Bioweek is back!
Bioweek is back! From June 1 to 9, the entire Belgian organic sector wants to inspire young and old to choose organic more often. Because choosing organic is choosing sustainability. A week full of fun activities where organic producers are put in the spotlight. Open days, tours with tastings, pick-your-own strawberries... something for everyone!

Bioweek was absent in Flanders for a few years, but it continued in Wallonia. This year, Bioweek is a joint initiative of the entire Belgian organic sector. VLAM (Flemish Center for Agro- and Fisheries Marketing) and its Walloon counterpart Apaq-W (Agence Wallonne pour la Promotion d'une Agriculture de Qualité) aim to excite consumers about discovering local organic products during Bioweek. Both organizations are launching a media campaign with their own unique touches, including links to each other's websites and activities. What is the goal of Bioweek? To grow organic 5 x 5%! Bioweek helps promote the Strategic Plan for Organic 2023-2027 in Flanders. With active government support, organic businesses throughout Flanders are working towards a 5% growth in these five areas over the next few years:+5% organic consumption: the volume of organic consumption will grow to 5% of total consumption by the end of 2027. +5% organic in public catering: organic will make up 5% of public catering by the end of 2027. +5% organic farms: at least 5% of farms will be organic by the end of 2027. +5% agricultural land: the area under organic production will increase to 30,000 hectares by the end of 2027. +5% turnover of organic animal production: the turnover of organic animal production will grow to 5% of the turnover of total animal production (including dairy). Never before has Flanders set so many concrete goals for organic! This way, the growth of the organic sector can be objectively evaluated in the future. Want to know more?
