about the market place

You can create an account as a buyer or as a vendor by first sharing your matchmaking details .

After filling in the survey you will be contacted by the Get Wasted team to hear more about what you are looking for, so matching is possible. When there is a fit, we create an account on the market place and you can order or offer products.

  • With a buyer account you can place orders from the market place.
  • From a vendor account you can manage your own shop by uploading products (choosing their price, volume, quantity, quality,...) and follow up on your orders. If you have recurring food surpluses you can leave the products on the market place as long as they are available.

An account on the market place is for free.

Once an order is placed and a transaction is completed, the vendor pays a commission fee of 10% on the total revenue excl.VAT (via monthy invoice). For the buyer this is included in the price. !The costs for logistic solutions is not included in the product price.

Get Wasted is a B2B platform that revalues food surpluses. Therefore only professionals with a VAT number can buy or sell products on the market place. Vendors can be farmers, food producers or food processors. Buyers can be food caterers, social kitchens, soup makers, school kitchens, food processors, ...

Get Wasted does not buy nor own the food surpluses, since we operate as a matchmaker and go-between partner.

When you are interested in a food surplus and you want to order, but practicalities still need to be discussed, please get in touch with the Get Wasted team. As a matchmaker we help buyer and vendor to seal the deal:

  • Logistics: When pick up is not an option, Get Wasted helps with finding a logistic solution through its network of partners.
  • Packaging/EPS boxes: EPS boxes can be exchanged or re-sold. This needs to be discussed with vendor and buyer.
  • Payment trough invoicing by vendor: The actual payment of a transaction is arranged between the parties through an invoice. Vendor will send out an invoice after delivery of the product. Get Wasted is not involved in the payment.

     about the food surpluses (products)

Get Wasted focuses on food surpluses of fruits and vegetables that are still in perfect condition for human consumption. The food products offered became a "surplus" because of the following reasons:

  • overproduced
  • special in size or shape and therefore second-class products
  • qualitative cutting side streams
  • lightly damaged
  • unfit for another reason with the narrow standards of the regular market.

The quality and specifics of the product are communicated by the vendor. Get Wasted does not control the quality nor holds any responsibility related to the state of the product. Both parties are professional actors. Please well-inform before buying and selling.

We believe any food produced should be valued and consumed. We should learn to eat what the farmer produces and what nature provides. By selling these food surpluses on the platform we revalue the food product and the hard labour of the farmer and we create sustainable healthy food.
